Creating a Short One Minute Movie

Though I am still working on my one minute movie, I wanted to comment on my experience thus far. I have used Movie Maker a few times in the past to create my home videos. I mainly focused on combining small clips from my camera and adding title, but I had never tried to download web clips and edit them in Movie Maker. I had a hard time figuring out what steps to take to ensure that the web clips could be imported into Movie Maker. After a frustrating day of searching and downloading then trying to import the clips into Movie Maker, I finally downloaded an update and changed my option in Movie Maker and I was able to import the videos and start working on them. I normal enjoy working with this type of project but it can be very frustrating when you run in to technical problems as I did yesterday. Once I was able to import the web clips I started working on the movie and things started moving right along.

Thank You Mom and Dad

June 7, 2009

I truly enjoyed working on this project for our Multimedia Class. Though I have used Photo Story 3 several times in the past I had never actually narrated a story. I would just add music and create a presentation for my students about events throughout the school year. I realized that the hardest part was working on creating your voice along with the story board. It is hard to believe that a two minute video would take several hours of editing to create. But it is very gratifying to see the final product after all the time taken to create, plan, narrate, edit and complete the final project. Though I was not completely satisfied with my own voice I was very pleased with the end product and would be proud to show it to my family, especially my mother. I believe that this type of multimedia is a great way to gain students interest and introduce in topics or concepts. I hope to continue using Photo Story 3 to engage students in my classroom.
